2007 Calendar Launch at Hidden Valley, Darwin, NT

THE PERFECT SETTING
Finally, the time had come to launch the 2007 Century Batteries V8 Utes & Beauts Calendar! The launch took place in Darwin and coincided with round 4 of the Australian V8 Ute Racing Championship as well as round 5 of the V8 Supercar series.

We could not have asked for a better setting for the launch! The Hidden Valley track attracted more than 40 000 enthusiastic racegoers who all had a chance to see and buy the calendar not to mention getting up close and personal with our attention-grabbing calendar models and stunning V8 Ute Grid Girls!

COOPERS BEER PARTY!
But before the girls wowed the massive crowds at the race track, there were a number of functions that they had been invited to attend. It all started with a huge party at the Beachfront Hotel thrown by the generous blokes at Coopers Brewing. It turned out to be a great afternoon as the invited guests were sipping on icy cold Coopers Pale Ale’s while watching the setting sun reflect off a number of hot looking V8 racing utes that were parked outside the pub. Meanwhile, the V8 Supermodels were busy signing calendars and having photos taken with guests inside the hotel. The Coopers flowed freely and it is safe to say that a great night were had by all!

The following day, the V8 Ute drivers and the V8 Supermodels had been invited to join the V8 Supercar drivers for an appearance and signing session at a public pre-race function on the lawns of the Sky City Casino. Naturally, this event drew a huge crowd as well and the girls had hundreds of photos taken with the public.

ON THE TRACK
The weekend came and the V8 Supermodels converged on the track and the calendar selling and signing started in earnest. The stand was buzzing from morning till afternoon and it is safe to say that the calendar launch and the girls themselves made a huge impression on the race fans!
The models signed copies of the Century Batteries V8 Utes & Beauts calendars in the NT heat until their wrists were aching and in between the signing, they posed for thousands of photos as well. There were also TV filming to be done for the Ch 9 Speedweek show as well as shooting footage for the giant TV screens around the track.

And then, when the V8 Utes were about to race on the Saturday and Sunday, the girls had to abandon the stall and take on their roles of Official Australian V8 Ute Racing Grid Girls! It was history in the making as it was the first time ever that the V8 Supermodels took on the grid girl duties and boy did they look fantastic out there in their hot little grid girl outfits! ...AND THEN THERE WAS THE PODIUM...
The girls were not off the hook until the last V8 Ute race had finished late on Sunday arvo as they also had their podium girl duties to take care of. So the girls got to rub shoulders with outright winner Grant “Grunta” Johnson, 2nd place Marcus “Mayhem” Zukanovic and 3rd place Kerry “Fanga” Wade. There was a huge trophy to be handed out to Grant and a few bottles of bubbly to be sprayed.
For some strange reason, the girls seemed to be popular targets for the bubbly spraying...

...DID SOMEONE SAY AFTERPARTY?!?!
It did not come as a huge surprise that the V8 Supermodels received a bunch of invitations to come along to the Official V8 Afterparty at Discovery Nightclub in Darwin! The place was jam packed with drivers, teams and supporters and it was pumping all night. Our girls clearly stood out as they were still wearing their eye-catching uniforms and because they were constantly surrounded by a throng of party goers. All in all - it turned out to be a massive weekend for us all!
